Christopher Appoldt PhotographySep 01, 2018
Chris’ passion for photography was stoked by his father’s admiration for Nikon cameras. It’s a love that never left Chris… literally - his dad’s 1968 F model is still with him, and yes, it works beautifully. But Chris didn’t start out his career in photography. In fact, he had a great gig as a marketing and communication director before clocking out of the 9-to-5 life to pursue his calling. Rather than being a hindrance, his early work experience gave him an advantage with a deep understanding of both sides of the lens - he knows where his clients are coming from and what they need. Armed with a background in publishing, marketing and on-the-job training in a magazine publisher’s studio, Chris’ work seamlessly found its way into magazines, on the sides of trucks, billboards, and on greeting cards. Sponsored by Photoflex as a “Light Leader”, Chis is based in Greenlawn and specializes in portraiture, editorial, and commercial work for local businesses. He loves portraits most, but can too often be found working with a local animal shelter or rescue, or working methodically to make a client's product look perfect for its first appearance in a catalog or online store. This talented photog revels in the fact that no two days are the same and there exists a visual history of his career. Chris lives in Greenlawn with his patient wife, photography-loving daughter and silly dog; his work can be found on his website and blog at www.christopherappoldt.com. Take a look and contact him for your own gig and experience the passion that has stuck with him his whole life.
